Childrens Neoprene Wetsuit

Children’s neoprene wetsuits are noted for their ability to protect the body and keep it warm regardless of how cold the water is. Its additional benefits include its buoyancy and being easy to clean up, something parents will appreciate. To clean the suit, you can follow these simple instructions.

Required Materials

Plastic hanger
Plastic clothes pins
Clothes line
Basin or tub
Scrub
Liquid dish soap
Warm water

Step 1

Fill the tub with warm water. Put in a bit of liquid dish soap. The mixture is right when the water is sudsy but without too many bubbles.

Step 2

Before washing the garment, shake it to get rid of any excessive dirt built-up. This will make it easier to clean up. Depending on where the child goes swimming, the garment could end up with ocean plant life, loose dirt, sand and other debris.

Shaking the garment will pry these particles loose. If the suit is heavily used, examine the garment thoroughly. Remove as much of the dirt as you can.

Step 3

After removing the dirt, put the children’s neoprene wetsuit in the tub for at least half an hour. Swish the garment around so additional residues and stains are removed. Most of the dirt will pile up on the neoprene so focus there.

Step 4

Use the scrub brush to clean the neoprene surface. Scrub gently; that will be sufficient to get rid of the particles and dirt clinging to the garment. The liquid soap on the water should get rid of the dirt. If it is necessary, scrub the garments some more.

Step 5

After washing, hang the garment and let it dry. The ideal method is to hang the garments by the legs using plastic clothespins. If this is not possible, a hanger will suffice. Don’t use wire hangers because they rust and can stain the garment. Plastic hangers are more suitable.

Tips

If you just need a little bit of cleaning, hang the garment outside and spray it with a garden hose. You can use a scrub brush with liquid dish soap on it to get rid of the dirt. If there is a smell, dip the garment in soap and water. Keep it immersed for several minutes.

The children’s neoprene wetsuits will continue to work well as long as it is cleaned regularly. By following these simple instructions, the garment will be able to keep the child warm for many years to come.
